The Hiking Wiki :: [NordenSkjold]
In summer, this hike will take you between 5 and 8 hours, but you should only do it if it is sunny and you don't see fog on the top (or have a GPS track and likes to walk insode a cloud). You shouldn't walk on the glacier as there are major crevasses and Bergsgrund, but you can go on both ridges on the sides. When the sun shines, the view is fantastic, as it is the highest peak around. At 7-800 m-a-s-l- you finde nice fossiles in the sandstones. If you go too early, big parts will still be covered by a shallow snow layer, so the hike to the top might be exhausting. At the end of July, most of the snow should be melted. If you plan to skii down to Longyearbreen in the spring be carefull of avalanches and go straight down from the top to the glacier, further towards Teltbergert there are crevasses.
